When things get better for her a few years later, the lady who left her child on a business airline seat chooses to find and adopt him. She had been afraid she would not be able to care for him. “PREGNANT?! After learning that Rhonda was expecting her boyfriend Peter’s child, her father, David Harris, shouted at her, saying, “You must be out of your mind, Rhonda!” Rhonda’s father ran a sizable textile firm, therefore she came from an affluent household in contrast to Peter. Her father had raised her alone after her mother tragically passed away when she was just two years old.

Mr. Harris was an extremely controlling man who did not want his daughter to ever defy him, even though he gave her the best of everything—clothes, food, and education. Rhonda attempted to conceal her pregnancy from her father by dressing big, but as the baby bulge became more noticeable, she was unable to do so. She made the decision to inform Mr. Harris about her pregnancy, but he was not impressed. “Rhonda, you are going to get rid of that kid. Are you understanding it? Rhonda, then 16 years old, angrily said, “No, dad.” “I am not going to end the pregnancy. I can not terminate the kid, and it is too late now.” 

Mr. Harris cautioned her, “Then you will have to figure out how you are going to raise that child yourself.” “No member of our family has ever ventured to wed a member of a lower social stratum. So you leave my house immediately if you wish to rise that man’s blood.” After a while, Rhonda answered, “Fine, dad,” her eyes filling with sorrow. “Perhaps mom would have encouraged me if she had been around longer. However, that is alright. I will raise the kid by myself and disprove your assertions.” That night, Rhonda packed up her things and broke off contact with her father. Mr. Harris told her to return only after she had either aborted the kid or given it to an orphanage, but he did not move an inch and shut the door behind her. Rhonda ordered an Uber to Peter’s residence without saying anything. She told him when she got there that she had left her father’s house to start a new life with him because he had refused to acknowledge their child. To her surprise, though, Peter declined to assume parental duties for the child.

“See, sweetie,” he murmured. “I am not prepared to have a child. What made you leave your father’s house, and why? When we decided to get married and raise a family, he might have provided us with financial support. Rhonda, get rid of that kid or forget about me.” Rhonda felt a wave of astonishment upon hearing that. “But Peter, this is our baby. How can you….” “Look, Rhonda, that baby and you are causing me nothing but trouble right now. You know what, just forget about us! It’s over!.” Peter!” Rhonda cried. “You were so happy when you found out about the pregnancy!
