On Wednesday, August 6, the singer-actress, who is 33 years old, made an appearance on Therapuss with Jake Shane. During her appearance, she discussed her approaching wedding to Blanco, who is 37 years old. The couple, who had been dating for around a year prior to the announcement of their engagement on December 11, 2024, had first met while working together on the song “I Can’t Get Enough” in 2019.
In spite of the fact that the majority of the wedding preparations are yet to come, Gomez said that she is looking forward to marrying Blanco. “I couldn’t be more excited,” she said in addition to saying, “I’m really, I just have never really felt so sure about something.”
Gomez said that she and her fiance are now engaged in their “own personal endeavors,” but that after their various endeavors have been completed, they would begin to involve themselves in “all the nitty-gritty” of the wedding preparation process.
Blanco made an appearance on the show exactly one month previously, and it was then that they expressed similar sentiments: they are busy, but they are excited about the future. He said at the time that they are both “working on so many things that we hadn’t even had time to get into it, but we’re so excited.” But they are both so excited about it.
Additionally, the actor from Only Murders in the Building disclosed the manner in which she and Blanco first attempted to transform their professional connection into a love one. During the time when Blanco and Gomez collaborated on the song “I Can’t Get Enough,” Gomez informed Blanco that she had requested that he “hook [her] up with anybody he knew that was cute.” Blanco, in response, extended an invitation to her to attend one of his “dinner nights” with his buddies, and she said, “and the next thing you know, we’re officially dating.”
“He was terrified in the beginning because he’s like, ‘it’s work and it’s comedy and people are gonna get mad,’” Gomez said in his interview. “And I’m like, ‘I don’t give an s—, kiss me.’” One thing that Gomez is certain about for their wedding day is that her “preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy,” as she said in an interview tape for her skin and cosmetics business Rare Beauty. This is the one thing that Gomez is certain about.
She also said that she is not interested in having a large wedding cake, but she is willing to have a smaller one in order to adhere to tradition. This will allow Blanco and her to “freeze” the cake they have chosen.
