The singer-songwriter recently proved that despite her global stardom, her teenage kids can still be just as embarrassed by her as any other mom.
Mariah Carey’s recent appearance wasn’t on stage or at an awards show but in her teenage son’s Twitch stream. The 56-year-old pop icon made a surprise cameo during 13-year-old Moroccan Scott Cannon’s live broadcast, sending the internet into a frenzy and leaving the teen hilariously mortified.

Streaming from a bedroom setup, Moroccan, whose father is Nick Cannon, was in the middle of engaging with viewers when he casually announced that his mom was around. “You wanna come here mom?” he asked.

Moments later, his twin sister Monroe popped into view, followed by none other than Mariah herself, casually crouching into the frame while holding a dog. What Moroccan clearly hadn’t anticipated, however, was the surge of excitement that erupted in the live chat the moment his superstar mom appeared on screen.

Despite the superstar’s friendly smile to viewers and the chorus of “Hello Mrs. Carey” from others in the livestream, Moroccan was not having it. Clearly flustered, he pleaded, “Y’all need to get out, now. Just, everybody get out…Mom, they can see you.”

The teenager, visibly embarrassed, told his mom, “They’re saying Hi Mariah I love you… Oh My God,” to which Mariah responded with a warm smile, “Hi guys I love you, too.”

After a few more desperate attempts of “Can y’all please get out? Please?… Get out of my room!” Moroccan finally got his wish as Mariah Carey stepped away from the camera and Monroe readied herself to leave as well.
