Growing up, Andrew Hardy lived in a dysfunctional household. After giving birth to Andrew, his mother felt her role as his wife had been fulfilled. She had married his father for his money. Having witnessed his father’s anguish, Andrew realized that he genuinely loved a woman who did not give a damn about him and was just interested in wealth and prestige. Andrew was adamant that he would never wed a shallow person. His life was going to be drastically altered. When Andrew returned home, his only connections to the town were his father and grandmother because he had attended university in England and completed his post-graduate studies in Australia.
His mother, on the other hand, had long since remarried, split from her father, and never made touch with her son. As a result, Andrew was a newcomer to the area and was happy that no one knew he was the sole heir to Hardy Industries and the son of Danton Hardy. Andrew called his father “Dad.” “I was considering…perhaps I should begin working for the company?” Danton was overjoyed. “I would scream for that!” “As vice-president of marketing, you can begin.”
Andrew, though, was shaking his head. “No,” he exclaimed. “I want to be the boss’s kid, but I also want to start at the bottom and work my way up. Take me on as a marketing department intern.”
Danton scowled. “Are you certain? It is not worth the money!” Andrew smiled. That is alright! I mean, I can still live at home, right? Naturally, he could, Danton remarked with a giggle. Andrew went out and bought a modest used automobile and clothes that would fit the pay of an intern. He began working for his father’s business, which he cherished. Many of his coworkers became friends with him, but he forged close bonds with Cynthia, a kind intern who swiftly rose to the position of closest friend.
Then, one day, while jogging, Andrew passed a Starbucks. A girl was emerging; she ran straight into Andrew without looking at him. Her coffee blew up in the air and sprayed Andrew, as was inevitable. “Oh my God,” exclaimed the girl. “I truly apologize!” “That’s OK,” Andrew said, and then his mouth fell open. She was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. The girl looked worried. “Are you OK?” she asked.
And Andrew kept staring and said, “You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, please have coffee with me?” The girl, whose name was Linda, started laughing. She had coffee with Andrew and soon they started dating. Andrew was head over heels in love with Linda and he was sure she was the One. He told his grandmother as much, but his grandmother frowned. “Sweetheart, a pretty face doesn’t guarantee a good heart,” she said. “Gran,” Andrew protested. “Linda thinks I’m an intern at Hardy Industries, she doesn’t know who I am!” “Andrew,” the grandmother said quietly. “You don’t know who she is either!”
